Clarence worked in the oil fields in 1920. Clarence and Bertha moved to Seminole, Ok. in 1929.
There is a story that might indicate Clarence living with another family as a child due to abuse from a step mother.
Document from Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma indicates that Clarence was a "Power Saw Operator" prior to 9-3-1950 when he was promoted to "Sr. Power Saw Operator" at a salary of $1.42 per hr.. Document # jbh #26823 4043-7229. Another document, "OCSF#4", indicated the Clarence underwent 12 hours of management training. Clarence retired in 1953 and went to Seminole Oklahoma to live his remaining days with his wife.
From Grandson (Frank L. Vest Jr.): From What I hear Clarence lived and worked in Okla. City while Bertha lived in Seminole and rasied the family. He would come home on the weekends. After retiring he moved back to Seminole. Clarence might have been born in the town of Hays, Ellis County, Kansas.
