The actual marriage date was never recorded in that county, so the marriage may have occurred in an adjacent county, probably in Pike County, Alabama. Census records indicate that the first three children of Jesse Amason and wife, Mary Cook, were born in Alabama. The younger children were born in Georgia. Jesse and Mary Amason, and children relocated to Union County, Arkansas at some time before the 1850 census.
