DATELINE: BAKERSVILLE, NC Wendell Lee Dearing Wendell Lee Dearing age, 72, of Hughes Gap Rd. Bakersville, NC, passed away Thursday September 25, 2003 at Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was the son of the late Bonnie and Ethel Winfield Dearing. He was retired as a baker for wonderbread. He was a member of #57 DAV, E.L. Randolph Chapter, as a van coordinator. He was preceded in death by son - Mark Anthony Dearing Sr., One Stepson - Floyd Edward Wheeler. Survivors include; wife - Carrie Mae Harris Dearing, of the home, sons - Steve Dearing, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Randy Dearing, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Timmy Dearing, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tommy Dearing, of Houston, TX, Wendell Lee Dearing Sr., of Hickory, NC, Daughters - Bonnie Gamblin, of Houston, TX, Lisa Hopson, and Jamie Roach, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Stepdaughter - Brenda Bollwage, of Burnsville, NC, Stepsons - Earmel Wheeler, and Delane Wheeler, both of Burnsville, NC, Eighteen Grandchildren, fifteen Great Grandchildren, Seven Stepgrandchildren, Seven StepGreat Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, Septenber 28 - 6-8PM, at Beans Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, September 29 - 11AM, at the church, with Keith Miller, Marvin Silver, and Scotty Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Proffitt Cemetery (Elk Shoal Community). Memorials may be made to DAV Chapter 57 PO Box 868 Burnsville, NC, 28714. Henline - Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
